Homeless
School Children
For my
listeners of the Roland Via Show, one of my highlighted show
subjects will focus on Homeless School Children. This
faction is family oriented and not about the “street people”
or those that live this lifestyle as an individual choice.
When I ask for volunteers, support or contributions, it will
be an identified, verified program focusing on HOMELESS
SCHOOL CHILDREN K-12 only.
Locally, the 2010 U.S. Census Bureau reveals 25% of
Volusia and Flagler County school children ages 18 and
younger are living in poverty.
Overall,
Volusia County had nearly 80,000 residents and 1 in 6
are living in poverty. Flagler had nearly 15,000.

report for "60 Minutes," Scott Pelley met with dozens of
poverty-stricken children who have been forced to reside in
automobiles for weeks, or often months, at a time.

homelessness: kids and their parents forced to live in cars.
